Hello players and athletes,
I want to apologize for any confusion sent from the previous email. I hope to clarify majority of questions with this email with some updates. If anyone has questions or concerns, please feel to reach out. We want to promote our in-house program for parents and athletes. Thank you for your patience.
We want to welcome all new and returning soccer players. We also hope everyone had a safe and fun summer. We want to thank all participating members for their patience while we implemented some new changes to our inhouse programs that will be affecting our K (U6) and (U8) clinics.
Our first practice will be this upcoming Friday September 3th 2021 for those who signed up for the Pre K 10 AM group only at Peckham Park (61 Strickland Rd, Middlefield, CT 06455). For our first practice, we ask parents and athletes to meet at the Pavilion. All following Friday sessions for this group will again be weather dependent. No session Friday September 24th (Durham Fair Weekend). We will have a professional trainer from Everson Soccer Academy coaching Friday sessions. We will continue to welcome more volunteer parent coaches for the Friday sessions.
All other sessions will begin Saturday September 4th 2021. (weather depending). Location for all Saturday sessions will be Memorial Middle School (124 Hubbard St, Middlefield, CT 06455). These sessions will be run by Everson Soccer Academy and our volunteer parent coaches. We will continue to welcome more volunteer parent coaches for the Saturday sessions. All following Saturday sessions for this group will again be weather dependent. No session Saturday September 25th (Durham Fair Weekend).
For our U8s, we will also have Weekly Wednesday Evening Games for the U8's led by the Parent Coaches only 6-7 PM at Memorial Middle School. Wednesday sessions will begin September 8th 2021.
In quick summary:
Our goal is to have 6-8 sessions total (all subject to weather and ability to reschedule):
Fridays at Peckham Park
Pre-K: 10 AM (1st practice please meet at the Pavilion)
Saturdays at Memorial Middle school:
K – Clinic (U6 Co Ed)): 9 AM
1st/2nd grade (U8 Girls): 10 AM
1st/2nd grade (U8 Boys): 10 AM
Pre K 1 (Co Ed): 11 AM
Pre K 2 (Co Ed): 12 PM.
Wednesdays at Memorial Middle School:
Wednesday Evening Games for the U8's will be led by the Parent Coaches 6-7P
Equipment:
-Supplied: shirt (distributed to new players)
-Required: shin guards, size 3 ball
-optional: cleats
Assigning Teams
Our K clinic and U8 clinics, we will have players temporarily assigned to one of four teams for organization purposes. We will have rosters finalized at the end of the first practice and the athletes will be provided their jerseys. We want to try to implement for cohesive and consistent training among these two age groups. During this past spring session, we would split up players and set up small sided games towards the second half of practice. For the fall, we will have a rotating schedule of games among the 4 teams.
You will be receiving an email shortly with initial team assignment please wear that color on Saturday.
For the first practice until jerseys are passed out, we do ask our athletes to wear a shirt color closest to their assigned team. (Red team wear a red shirt. Light blue team can wear any blue shirt). We are trying to keep this as organized as possible for the first day until jerseys are passed out.
One last thing, we will do our best to keep friends together. At this age group, it is all about having fun and building relationships. Team rosters are not finalized at this point. We do wants friends together along with making teams as balanced as possible.
Lastly, I apologize for any confusion from the initial email. I hope this clarifies many things. Please reach out with any questions and concerns. I look forward to meeting everyone this Saturday. (Unfortunately, I cannot make Friday sessions due to work commitments).
Please note: C.S.C. does not guarantee a specific amount of practices/games for the Fall/Spring seasons. Weather can be a factor and make-up practices/games are not guaranteed. ** TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE**
